Local people will be able to hear the results of the consultation on the proposed changes to NHS healthcare in Dorset at a public meeting in New Milton on Wednesday 12 July.
The Clinical Services Review was led by Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group and the proposals would affect people in the western side of the New Forest:
* Royal Bournemouth Hospital to become the major emergency hospital with an emergency department for major injuries or illness
* Poole Hospital to become the major planned care hospital with a 24-hour urgent care centre to treat most minor injuries.
This meeting is taking place at New Milton Memorial Centre on Wednesday 12 July, from 2-4pm.
Professor Johnny Lyon-Maris, a New Forest GP and locality lead for NHS West Hampshire CCG, said:
“I appeal to everyone who lives near the Dorset border to come along and hear what local people said about these plans.
“The Dorset review was launched because the NHS needs to change to face the challenges of the future.”
The proposed changes will be discussed at Dorset CCG’s Board Meeting on 20 September and at West Hampshire CCG’s Board meeting the following week on 28 September.
