New 'communication card' sign language film made in Hampshire

This week West Hampshire CCG iscelebrating Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week and Deaf Awareness Week 2017 by promoting our ‘I have communication needs’ card.

Working in partnership with Healthwatch Hampshire, we have produced a sign language film to explain how people who are deaf or hard of hearing can use the card to get the communication support they need.

Without communication support like an interpreter or lip speaker, many Deaf people are unable to use NHS services successfully.  Deaf organisations in Hampshire will be helping us tell people about the card and how to get one.
